The Cabin
Owl's Head Cabin is a vacation rental house available only for full 7 day/6 night weeks, Sunday to Saturday, in summer and 2 night minimum stay for the rest of the year. The house is set back from the road so it is very quiet, private and peaceful in a wooded setting. There is a downstairs bedroom with a queen size bed, and an upstairs loft with one queen bed and one single bed. The full bathroom is downstairs with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. No meals are provided. There is a screened in porch, furnished in summer and fall, for sitting and sleeping, with a futon double bed/couch and an open deck with a grill, table and chairs. The cottage rents with linens for the 3 beds, and 5 sets of bath towels.
The Area
The 40 acre property is located along the Giant Mountain Wilderness Area between Keene Valley and Elizabethtown on NY Route 9N. The cabin gives you all the comforts of home with quick access to climbing, hiking, skiing, and fishing for daytime activities. Your neighbors are hummingbirds, squirrels, deer, turkey, ravens, and sometimes beaver, black bear, coyote and bobcat.
